About Us

I have been blessed by traveling to many parts of the world. Starting back in my days as a volunteer in Colombia and later living in and visiting many cities in the USA and around the world, where the situation for many is far from reality, where crime is the rule, and where poverty is a lifestyle.  

These experiences have cultivated my passion in the following areas:

• Criminal Justice . Mass incarceration has crushing consequences: racial, social, and economic. We spend around $270 billion per year on our criminal justice system. Mass incarceration exacerbates poverty and inequality, serving as an economic ball and chain that holds back millions, making it harder to find a job,.

• Natural Disasters Impact :Research has shown an overall reduction in educational attainment, lower academic performance, and higher rates of absenteeism among children who have experienced climate shocks 
  
• Poverty and lack of opportunities : America is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Yet a number of markers suggest that our wealth is not translating into better lives for large segments of our society.  Worldwide the situation is not different from America, probably much worse, given my recent experience traveling to France where I met many refugees from across the globe in deplorable conditions looking for a better life. 

        I am convinced that the solution to these issues is, definitely, access to a fair education. I strongly believe that education can be accessible to anyone, anywhere, through access to a laptop and internet connection , hence, it has the potential to change lives.
